Our children are learning new things on a daily basis Learning new things can be hard and tiring. The way ISR lessons are structured really allows your child to focus throughout the short lesson while also getting a lot of frequent exposure allowing them to really retain/remember what they are learning.
Please ask! Head over to the page and send me your questions! Once you are enrolled in a session I will always be available outside of lesson time to answer any questions as well.
ROLLBACK TO FLOAT
this is important for all ages but will be the focus for those not yet walking
your child will learn to roll to their backs and float, rest, and breathe until someone can get to them.
SWIM FLOAT SWIM
this step is for those that are developmentally ready
your child will learn to swim a short distance, roll into a float for rest and breathing, and then back to another swim until they can safely get themselves out of the water
Most of our lessons will be done in a bathing suit and rash guard, we add clothing towards the end of the lessons for a few reasons..
creates more of a real-life feel and scenario for you child
clothing adds weight which can make things more difficult so we want your child to experience that in our safe environment
ISR requires a "clothing checkout" to ensure skills needed for survival scenarios are accomplished
86% of children who have fallen into the water are in clothing, therefore being in the water while clothed in a safe environment during lessons is very important.
maintenance lessons are all dependent on age and skill level
children change constantly in the first 5 years of life, getting in the pool with me will help them continue to learn and perfect their skills as their bodies change.
how often is up to you and your child! As I have said before repetition is great for retention of skills so the more they see me the better!
Maintenance is scheduled in 10 minute intervals as well and they can be whenever works best for your schedule.
WILL MY CHILD CRY DURING LESSONS?
Every child is different but the answer is most likely yes!
remember, while in the pool, your children are in a learning environment, its not just for fun
children will usually calm down and actually start having fun once they gain more confidence with me in the pool after a few lessons
its not easy watching your children cry but just know, our biggest goal is to make sure your child has the skills to be SAFE in the water!
